Irene Yéga Omiunu is a British-Nigerian author, illustrator, fashion artist, and educator whose work celebrates African culture, identity, and representation. Her creative practice spans children’s literature, fashion illustration, and cultural storytelling, with work recognised internationally through clients including British Vogue, the Victoria & Albert Museum, and The Dubai Mall.

Her first self-published children’s book, *Puff Puff*, draws on her experiences growing up in Lagos and celebrates Nigerian culture through a humorous, culturally rich story. It was shortlisted for the **2023 Searchlight Writing for Children Awards** in the **Best Children’s Illustrated Picture Book** category. She has also contributed to children’s literary events, including the Akada Children’s Book Festival, where she shared her work with young readers and aspiring creatives.

Through Studio YÉGA and her wider creative work, Irene champions African visual culture and supports emerging illustrators through mentoring and education. Her work explores themes of heritage, representation, creativity, and cultural pride, encouraging children and young creatives to see their identities reflected and celebrated through art and storytelling.
