Faye Akpalu

Faye Akpalu is a children’s author whose storytelling journey began as a mother seeking greater diversity in the books available to her children.

With a professional background in law and the Probation Service, she transformed her passion for inclusion and representation into a purposeful literary path.

Drawing on her Ghanaian heritage, Faye creates joyful and empowering stories that help children from different backgrounds see themselves positively represented in literature. Her work promotes cultural pride, authenticity and belonging.

Based in the UK, Faye leads the LittleTokens Foundation, which supports underserved communities in Ghana by providing literacy resources and helping to develop accessible libraries.

In 2023, her writing received a Commended Text award in the Faber Children’s FAB Prize.
